At Anglicare North Queensland, you'll be supported every step of the way with the care and guidance designed just for you.
Our team is here to support you if you’re aged 16–25 and experiencing homelessness or worried about losing stable housing. We are providing safe, stable and culturally affirming homelike environments with individual tailored support to guide you into a sustainable, independent future.
At our two safe and welcoming homes – St John’s House for Young Men and St Margaret’s House for Young Women – you can find support to build confidence, learn new skills, and take steps towards a more independent life.

St Margaret's shelter for young women
Aged 18+ and in need of housing support?
St Margaret’s House (St Margaret’s) offers a safe, respectful space for young women experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing stable housing. Our service helps young women gain confidence, life skills, and independence while addressing their individual needs in housing, income, health, relationships, legal matters, education, and employment.
Our support includes:
- 24/7 access to assistance
- Safe accommodation and day-to-day essentials
- Help to secure stable, long-term housing
- Advocacy and referrals for housing, income, education, employment, health, legal, and family support
- Life skills development, including cooking, budgeting, nutrition, self-care, problem-solving, and conflict resolution
- Support for families and former residents
Creative programs (TBC):
TEMPO Music Program – Teaching Electronic Music Production as an Outlet. Clients explore electronic music creation, including beat-making, basslines, vocals, and editing, as a fun and creative way to build confidence and skills.
