Meet our Board
Professor Trent Twomey
Professor Trent Twomey is Chair of the Anglicare North Queensland Board and a respected leader in health, governance and regional development. He currently serves as National President of The Pharmacy Guild of Australia and President of the World Pharmacy Council, providing leadership on key health and policy issues at both national and international levels.
Trent has a strong connection to North Queensland and extensive experience in community, education and business leadership. He is Chair of Trinity Anglican School, a Professor at James Cook University and a former Chair of Advance Cairns. With more than 25 years of leadership and advocacy experience, he brings valuable strategic insight, governance expertise and a strong commitment to strengthening communities across the region. He and his wife also operate several local businesses in North Queensland.
Kathy Romano
Kathy Romano is a seasoned business leader with extensive experience in the education sector. She currently serves as the Head of Business Services at Trinity Anglican School (TAS), where she plays a key role in ensuring the school’s financial health and operational efficiency.
Before joining TAS, Kathy held the position of Business Manager at The Cathedral School in Townsville for over a decade. Her expertise in financial management, administrative operations, and strategic planning has been instrumental in the success of both schools.
Dr. Tim Linton
Dr. Tim Linton has dedicated over 40 years to General Practice, with a particular focus on GP Obstetrics. His career spans various regions, including 10 years in Nepal (with 5 years as hospital director), Gippsland in Victoria, Gove in the Northern Territory, and more recently, Yarrabah near Cairns.
Dr. Linton also works with the Royal Australian College General Practitioners (RACGP), facilitating training for doctors to practice in remote and isolated areas across Australia. Additionally, he has undertaken short-term assignments in several Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory and Western Australia, reflecting a strong commitment to serving diverse and under-served populations.
Father Kenneth Lay
Father Kenneth has been a Board Member since 2020, serving as Archdeacon of the South and Dean at St James Cathedral. Previous roles include Rector at Mossman/Port Douglas Anglican Ministry Unit, Vicar and Pastoral Chaplain at Anglican Parish of Aberfeldie and Overnewton Anglican Community College, and various leadership positions in Anglican parishes and rural communities.
A dedicated professional with a background in education, including roles as a Secondary School teacher and administrator, and University Lecturer. He is a Life member of Flinders University Choral Society, and a member of the Australian College of Education and the Australasian Religious Press Association.
Ashley Perez
Ashley Perez is the Chief Operating Officer at Somerville Community Services and has over 20 years leadership experience working in the education and community services sectors in Western Australia and Victoria before moving to the Northern Territory in early 2015.
Ashley has extensive experience working in national program implementation, community services, partnerships, communications and community engagement. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders and also currently serves as Chair of the Y Northern Territory.
Paul Sjogren
Paul has been Principal at Trinity Anglican School in Cairns since 2017. He has a history of involvement in Queensland’s regional Anglican schools since moving up to Mackay from a regional Anglican school in Victoria in 2003.
Previously a civil engineer, Paul has made a commitment to social justice and regional Australia and recognises the efficacy of education in achieving positive outcomes for all, particularly for those who may have previously disengaged from formal educational systems.
Meet our Executive Team
Liz Colahan
Chief Executive Officer
Liz joined Anglicare NQ in April 2022, bringing over 30 years of experience in the human services sector across both government and non-government roles. Her leadership is centred on building a strong Community of Practice to advocate for a fair and just society, particularly for the most vulnerable.
With expertise as a leader, manager, and practitioner, Liz emphasises the importance of strong governance structures shaped by the voices of those the organisation supports. A passionate advocate for reconciliation, she is committed to embedding these principles throughout all levels of Anglicare NQ.
Andrew Hay
Chief Financial Officer
Andrew has been Chief Financial Officer at Anglicare NQ since September 2021. He oversees Finance, IT, Asset Management, Marketing, and Communications, and serves as Company Secretary, supporting the Board in governance and strategy.
With over 30 years of experience in senior financial and executive roles across not-for-profits, hospitality, and local government, Andrew brings valuable leadership to Anglicare NQ.
Fr. Roby Babu
Executive Manager Youth, Chaplaincy & Wellbeing
Reverend Roby joined Anglicare NQ in 2021. He oversees the Youth Support Program, Cairns Education, Training and Employment, Non-Family-Based Residential Care, and Public Intoxication services and he serves as a Deacon at St. John Anglican Church in Cairns under the Anglican Diocese of North Queensland.
Roby is a social worker and theologian with over 23 years of experience in Child Protection, Disability, and Public Intoxication.
Natalie Musumeci
Executive Manager Integrated Community Services
Natalie is a qualified Social Worker, with a Diploma in Business, Diploma of Management and Diploma of Community Services Child Protection. Her career has included working with Department of Child Safety in Cape York and the Torres Strait, a project with Department of Health, mental health, drug and alcohol, and working in the non-Government sector for over 20 years, predominantly in Housing and Homelessness.
Natalie’s passion is implementing models of service to the most vulnerable people in Communities. Natalie prides herself on relationships and Networking.
Andrew Dwyer
Executive Manager Community Services Northern Region
Andrew joined Anglicare NQ in 2024. He oversees Non-Family-Based Residential Care, Townsville, Education, Training and Employment Program and Public Intoxication services, in Anglicare NQ’s Northern Region.
Andrew has over 18 years of leadership experience in private, for-purpose, and government organisations including seven years of executive and board experience in the Human Services sector.
Ann Buxton
Executive Manager Quality & Impact
Ann joined Anglicare NQ in July 2024 and has been the Executive Manager Quality and Impact since September 2025. Ann oversees the Quality and Practice Team and supports organisational efforts to strengthen management capabilities, progress improvement initiatives, consolidate in-service training and understand our impact.
With extensive executive, operational leadership and program management experience within the not-for-profit community services sector Ann brings strategic insights into organisational development, policy development, service design and strengths-based approaches.
